Copyright Policy
Last updated November 4, 2026
Gamuki respects the rights of creators and expects everyone who makes games here to do the same. This policy explains how fan games work, which games can be sold, how to report a game that uses your work, and what happens next. It is part of our Terms of Service.
Your responsibility
You are responsible for everything in the games you make and publish: names, characters, art, sound, music, text, uploads and anything the AI agent produces at your request. Only use material you created, that you have permission to use, or that is in the public domain.
Copyright checks
Gamuki automatically checks games for material that appears to come from movies, TV shows, games, franchises, existing characters, real people, brands or songs. The check is automated and can be wrong in either direction; it doesn't replace your own judgement, and a game that passes can still be removed if it infringes. Our team reviews flags as well.
When a game is flagged you can make it original (new names, characters, look and setting) or publish it as a fan game.
Fan games
- Fan games are allowed, but they are always free: they can never be sold, take tips or be monetized in any way, even if you change them later.
- Before publishing a fan game you agree to these conditions for that game. The agreement is recorded and is permanent.
- Fan games can be removed at any time, for any reason, including when a rights holder asks. Gamuki is not responsible for losing a fan game or anything in it.
Selling games
Only original games can be sold. A game can't be sold if it is a fan game or has an unresolved copyright flag. Selling downloads needs a one-time fee of $10 per game; prices run from $1 to $5. If a game is later removed for infringement or reclassified as a fan game, it stops selling and the fee isn't refunded automatically (we review those cases individually).
Reporting infringement (notice)
If you believe a game on Gamuki infringes your copyright, use the Report copyright link on the game's page, or email copyright@gamuki.com. Please include:
- your name, contact details and, if you act for someone else, who owns the rights;
- the work you believe is infringed;
- the link to the game on Gamuki and what in it infringes;
- a statement that you believe in good faith the use isn't authorised by the owner, its agent or the law;
- a statement that the information is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the owner or authorised to act for the owner;
- your physical or electronic signature (your typed full name).
We review every notice promptly, may remove or disable the game, and tell the creator. Knowingly false notices can make you liable for damages.
Counter-notice
If your game was removed and you believe that was a mistake or that you have the right to use the material, email copyright@gamuki.com with: the removed game's link; a statement under penalty of perjury that you believe in good faith it was removed by mistake or misidentification; your name, address and phone number; your consent to the jurisdiction of the federal court for your address (or, outside the US, any judicial district where Gamuki may be found) and to accept service from the person who sent the notice; and your signature. We may forward it to the person who reported the game, and restore the game in 10 to 14 business days unless they tell us they have filed a court action.
Repeat infringers
We close the accounts of members who repeatedly infringe others' rights. Normally that means more than two valid copyright removals, but we may act sooner for serious cases. Games removed for infringement, and any fees, are not restored when an account is closed.
No warranty
Games, art and other content can be removed, lost or become unavailable, for example after a takedown, a policy decision or a technical failure. To the extent the law allows, Gamuki is not liable for any loss of games, content, sales or data. Keep your own copies of anything important. See the Terms of Service for the full disclaimer and limits of liability.
